Happy Saturday…yes, I know it’s Sunday!
Am I short on sleep? I may be.
Jon and I returned late last night from a quick trip to Michigan, away for four days, visiting our daughters and their families. We cheered our college freshman on in his Ultimate Frisbee tournament, and I did get the chance to do a little shopping!
Did I mention it was four days? I’m starting “to feel it,” does that mean I’m getting old?
Like in one week?!!
Say it isn’t so!!
What will you be looking forward to this coming month of May?
School being out, traveling, vacationing, going to the lake, going to the beach, or maybe even going to Grandma’s house?
After a brief shopping attempt @thefoundcottage, we had dinner with my daughter, and her family in Holland, Michigan. We watched our first year, college freshman compete in an Ultimate Frisbee Tournament while we were there.
At the table behind us, and scattered throughout the restaurant, were High School students dressed in their Prom wear.
Did you attend your High School prom? So exciting!
I’ve always loved a good dress-up event, especially a “fancy” date…. guess that’s just me.
Regardless, with or without having participated in your High School Prom, it’s also the “end of the school year”, which is widely, and often wildly celebrated.
Enough about me, would you like to hear what is planned for this coming month of May?
Did you know we have a little lake cottage? If you’re familiar with lake life, you know that everyone “on the lake” is ready to start Summer exactly on Labor Day weekend.
Everyone except us!
Owning any property requires some upkeep and refreshing with the new year, and our little cottage is no exception. We’ve had some storm damage on our porch, so we’ll be fixing that and painting the deck. We added some wood trim inside the cottage, and we still have one wall to finish and then paint.
Next, there’s Mother’s Day, followed by school being out for the summer, family vacations, sports, camps, Bible School, on and on.
What’s your favorite thing about May?
This coming month of May, I’ll be sharing some container garden ideas, some color schemes and samples for the cottage, supplies and tools needed for the deck or other projects, recipes to keep you light and cool, and a few simple summer cocktail recipes.
Mother’s Day is coming soon, as you probably know. We all celebrate this day in our own way, either a day to celebrate with your children and your mother, or to honor your mother’s memory.
Mom and me.
Well, that’s what I’m up to in May, I want to wish you a wonderful start to your summer, and a sweet Mother’s Day, after all, we are each a mother’s child…
Hugs!
xx,
