March is here, the predecessor to Spring!
We’re one week into a new month, and I haven’t even said, “Hello”!
I have to say, I’m feeling a bit embarrassed.
March is the month of “in-between”, not yet Spring but we’re getting glimpses of what is to come.
We wait.
Here’s a question…how good are you at waiting?
Exactly! enough said.
Patience is a “virtue”, we’ve all been told. And yet, the general consensus is that few of us find it easy to wait…patiently.
March has just begun and it’s already testing my patience.
Yesterday was warm and sunny, so I spent the afternoon uncovering my tiny perennial sprouts from their cover of mulch. Every year I plant more perennials, knowing they’ll multiply and fill the beds with blooms. The perennials are the base for the season, and I surround them with colorful annuals to keep the beds full. I’m not a Master Gardener, especially with flowers, but I do enjoy the preparation, planting and tending of my flowers, roses, and herbs each year.
Let’s get back to patience…
I mentioned yesterday’s glorious afternoon in the sun, preparing the earth to release her first crops (so to speak), and worked, crawled and pulled until I had to down 2 Tylenol so I could finish what I had started.
Tonight, my tiny plants are still standing tall and straight, but the temperature is to drop to 20*F tonight, so I’ll have to cover them with towels or sheets before I go to bed.
See what I mean about March? about the not-yet Spring? the temperatures here in Northern Indiana are up and down like a roller coaster. Also, it was sunny today as well, so I washed all of my outside windows until they sparkled, and it’s raining on them now. Tomorrow’s forecast? Spotty windows!
So how do you spend March?
Do you anxiously wait for the sun? Waiting patiently for it to arrive on a consistent basis?
Or do you travel to find it, and to bask in its glory?
I’d love to sneak away to somewhere HOT, but I’m using this time to work inside as well.
I have two rooms I’d like to complete, maybe three, before June.
I have a few parties that I’m hosting, and I’m using that deadline to motivate me to keep moving!
Today I’m working outside, again, using those clippings from the yardwork I mentioned earlier. Making a wreath and swags, depending on the amount of materials I need, and I’m hoping to have my porch entry assembled and photographed to share this week.
Not today……
you’re so impatient!!
No big news today, just wanted to stay in touch, check on you and to say “Hello”!
Blessings,
xx,
