Living in Northern Indiana, our Spring weather is very unpredictable until May. I’ve even had my Mother’s Day flowers from my daughters’, die from frost bite in the first weeks of May! Cautiously now, I plant perennials and container flowers or herbs after Mother’s Day!
I hope you understand when I say that I don’t want to promise something that I may not be able to do, or complete, during the month of March! I’m fortunate enough to be designing for a couple of clients, one project is just now getting to selecting the finishing touches for a kitchen remodel and the other hasn’t even started yet!
I will try to start on my laundry room, add a few touches to the kitchen, and work on paint and wallpaper for the dining room. I always have a “dining room” goal, because of Easter dinner with my family gathered around the table.
The dining room is one of my favorite spaces in the home. This is the room where we celebrate the milestones of our lives: holidays with family and friends, birthdays, graduations, engagement parties and baby showers! Read that list again and think of all the tablescape opportunities!!! Mr. Hubs will say, “It’s just an excuse to keep buying stuff…”, to which I reply, “who needs an excuse?!!”
How do you spend this pre-Spring month of March?
Are you a gardener? Irish? A Basketball March Madness fan?
Do you keep checking Wal-Mart or the local grocery stores for their outdoor plants to be set out in front of their stores? I can’t tell you how excited I feel the first time I spot flowers, green plants and pots of all shapes and sizes!
This summer, maybe earlier, I do want to get a new patio set for our deck at home. After we restain the deck, just yearly maintenance, I’d like to add more plants and a rug. If I can’t find a reasonable set, I may consider painting the table we have, I like the style, but the finish is starting to fade from the sun.
I hope you’re following along on Face Book and Instagram, where I try to post on a regular basis. When I do transition to Spring decor outside, I’ll post as I go. I appreciate your comments and feel quite honored that you took time to join in on the conversation!
Here’s wishing you sunny days, and a March that goes “out like a lamb”!
Stay in touch!
We’ll talk soon!
XO,
