Friends, we are finally scheduled to rescreen our little porch, and paint the porch floor, ceiling and decking! This has taken FOREVER, or so it seems.
Have you noticed that when you have something that is so important to YOU, it seems that you can’t move forward because of issues out of your control? SOOO frustrating! It’s a matter of material and waiting for the items that we want to use, as opposed to using anything because it’s readily available.
Maybe we’re too picky.
Maybe we’re not.
Maybe we know what we want!
Here’s the bad news, or more of it, the “double screen doors” that I’ve wanted for so long, require reframing the porch, and that was my chance to “change” it up, and add more trim work and details! My husband, on the other hand, didn’t want the additional time or cost involved. You can see how that’s going, can’t you? !!
Disappointed for sure.
But I WILL create that porch somewhere, sometime, and not for someone else!
Our deadline to complete the porch is the July 4th weekend. This year we’ll have fewer “campers”, our kids set up tents because there’s so many of them, too many for the house to handle. The neighbors are slowly getting used to our raucous bunch, we try to pacify them by including their grandchildren in our games and activities.
The countdown has begun…. We’ll spend some time this weekend getting the materials we need, minus the screens and frames. Our porch floor is cement, in good condition, so I’m thinking about a stencil?
Do you think this group would even notice?
Ha! Maybe not, but I’d like to try it!
Will keep you posted for a BIG reveal on a LITTLE PORCH!
Deadline is July 1, 2022!
Enjoy these hot summer days!
XO,
