Some-bunny just wanted to say, “Hello”!
How are you, my friends?
I am so ready for Spring to arrive, and yet I realize we have a good month ahead of us to wait for its arrival.
In the meantime, I’m bringing green plants, both real and faux, into the house. There’s something about the color green, that feels so fresh.
What do you do to transform your winters’ dwelling into Spring?
Any tricks you’d like to share?
Personally, I’m still waiting on the perfect Springs’ wreath for my front door, because…with the wreath comes the coordinating floral arrangements gracing both sides of our door. One thing always leads to another, doesn’t it?
Warmer weather pulls me outdoors, where I tend to the new, tiny sprouts pushing up through the mulch, pruning the dead branches off of trees and roses, and shaping the profiles of our hydrangeas. The sun on my shoulders just warms my very soul!
I also tend to start “walking” when the weather warms. I like to walk about 3 miles at a time, daily if I can. I used to wear my Fit Bit but disagreed with her assessment of my milage.
Since January, I’ve been watching my calories, my diet, and trying to increase my exercising, on a regular basis. Like any “new” activity, I had a rough start, was consistent for a while, and then I had 3 weekends in a row of traveling, visiting family and friends, dining out in glorious restaurants, and putting my “miles” in by sitting in the car.
Not good.
Not kidding.
A new goal?
To get back on track, with my diet and exercise, and to make peace with Miss Fit Bit!
Not all exercise involves walking, and as you can see from the photo above, our deck needs restained, another warm weather activity and a calorie burner.
The above photo is my herb garden, which I refer to as my “Kitchen Garden”. It is probably the best-tended and healthiest plants I have outside. Located on our deck, which faces South, it gets full sun from noon till evening. There is an oak tree which overhangs our deck, shading the harsh mid-afternoon’s sun. Because its elevated, the herbs like this. The rabbits don’t.
My goal, which I’m putting in print to push me forward, is to finish the interior projects that I have. Why would I work inside when the weather is calling me outside? Well, my friend, I have a bit of hosting to attend to this Summer.
As a family, we have several special occasions this year to celebrate. Graduations, birthdays, and weddings! This is where the “push” comes from, being able to host easily, not worried about getting the room finished…. just enjoying the celebrations in my “finished” dining room! It’s time for a new look, and I’m more than willing to make her over. Also, I’ve wanted my laundry room to be wallpapered for a year now, with a new washer and dryer, new flooring, millwork and a light fixture. Oh, I also have an OLD sink I’d like to use to replace a 1990’s utility tub.
Budgeting is always an issue.
Trust me, we will party with or without the laundry room being finished!
Does waiting on a project to start, or to be finished bother you?
Of course, it does!
It’s SO aggravating, but over the years I’ve found that rushing through a project for your home, is a great way to buy the wrong materials, make hasty decisions, or to make mistakes that cannot be easily corrected. All mistakes are costly when it comes to renovation.
So, tell me…
What do you have planned for this almost-Spring month of March?
Working outside?
Traveling?
Drop a comment below in the box and let me know, would love to hear from you!
Blessings,
xx,
