I remember making signs to hang on my bedroom door that said, “NO BOYS ALLOWED”! With two younger brothers, and their assorted friends running in and out of my room, I had had it!
This weekend will be an entirely different story!
On Friday afternoon, my youngest daughter will be arriving with her youngest two daughters to spend some time with us, Jon and me. My daughter is “technically” coming to attend her High School Reunion on Saturday. She has many classmates and friends here in town and wants to see as many as possible while she’s here.
After eating together on Friday, don’t even know what we’re doing with that, we’ll all attend an Art Exhibit, featuring a former classmate and friend of hers. She asked me to come along, since I know her friend as well. (Naturally, I’ll also be “watching” the two littles so she can talk to everyone, peacefully!) I’ve come to realize that there are many “expectations” with Grandmother-hood!
Since Saturday is busy for the little momma, I’m hoping to take the girls to the zoo, or a pumpkin patch that is close by…maybe both if we have the time.
Friends, since Friday and Saturday have not yet arrived, I can’t share what I don’t yet know.
But I am so looking forward to whatever may come, since I love the time with these three so much.!
Just a quick little heads-up on what I’m doing, will do, this weekend.
So….what are you doing?
It’s been a short work week, and this weekend seemed to show up pretty quickly, didn’t it?
Even with the girls here, I can “pull out” my fall decor, I know they’ll be excited to help!
Listen, you probably feel this way as well. I have SO MUCH to do this month, my head is spinning. My personal calendar is missing about 2 weeks of squares for me to fill in….I need more days!
We still have a kitchen floor with loose tiles all over the place, that needs fixed/repaired/then replaced at a later date. We decided to “wait” until we pull up the entire first floor’s flooring, to make it consistent. Visually, this will increase the square footage of the house. For the “now”, we’re replacing/repairing the damaged sections, the tiles are loose, but the slab below is fine…. that was our greatest concern.
Next, we’re installing old floorboards as a new ceiling on our porch at the lake. That has to be “done” before our Hobo Stew party in October, or after the party and before the snow arrives, there’s always something, isn’t there?
Well, that brings me to Halloween and the upcoming REAL holidays!
First, I want to add millwork, (board and batten) to the dining room, a new light fixture, drapes, and wallpaper, before Thanksgiving!
Who’s with me? Who else uses the holidays to motivate them to get up and get it done!
Anyway, there’s a lot to look forward to, and much to share later, but for now, let’s just close with a
Cheers to the weekend!
XO,
