Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you, he is Christ the Lord.
Luke 2:11
What good news this was, and still is today!
My greatest wish for you this Christmas, is that you too can experience this Joy and Peace, the gift of pure Love delivered to us all.
My December newsletter, isn’t really a letter or an event calendar at all, it’s just a chance for me to share my plans and goals for this month, this very busy, very special month, with you!
I’m hosting Christmas dinner this year, actually every year!!! and I’m so looking forward to it. All of it! First, just setting a beautiful table for my family to gather around, to celebrate the love we have for each other, and the love of the baby born this holy day, for us! centuries ago.
I’ll be sharing my tablescape on Instagram and FaceBook, and here on the blog with photos and how-to’s tips for hosting.
Above our dinner table, the chandelier will probably have a bit of live greenery in it…I always do that, I can’t help it.
The rooms will be decorated simply this year, with classic colors, using golds, whites, browns and some copper tones.
I’ll be putting a tree in my kitchen this year, and I’m excited to see how it turns out.
We’ve only been in this house for 2 years, 2 very chaotic years…..we all remember Covid, and now it’s still around….
We bought a 20 year old home, structurally sound, in a great neighborhood, that needed alot of updating, both for a future resale and to simply make it ours. I have so many plans yet for this home, but realistically, we can only tackle one project at a time.
I wanted to add millwork , paint and wallpaper to the formal dining room, and a new light fixture! before our Christmas dinner…hasn’t happened yet, but there’s always next year, right?
Crafts:
Tiny white mittens: who doesn’t love that?
My craft this month, atleast the one I’m most excited about, is to make a garland out of white toddler size mittens! I think they’ll be precious! Note: I don’t have the tiny mittens, but I’ll be making them/sewing them and attaching them to ribbon, to make my own garland.
Recipes:
Goodness, this is as good as November, when it comes to hosting, creating, decorating, baking and cooking.
I don’t make alot of cookies or desserts for holidays, but I do have a few favorites that I’ll share with you!
Gifting:
I also like to add my baked items with other small gifts, and create a gift basket with them. Gift baskets are usually customized to the recipient, which is what makes them the perfect, thoughtful gift, to make and to receive.
At the end of December……is New Year’s Eve!
Again, hosting friends and family with yummy treats, maybe some bubbly drinks/cocktails with a new theme to ring in the new year….2022!!
What do you do for the holidays? are you hosting? Traveling?
How do you celebrate New Year’s Eve?
Leave a comment below, I’d love to hear from you, and to be inspired by you as well!
Happy December friends,
Much love and a hug, Beth
