This Spring is a new Season for me, a Season of growth, challenging and rewarding.
I’ve been taking some classes lately, actually, for the past year. Learning the art of writing, the act of blogging, fine tuning my design skills, and creating a way to share them with you. If I say it’s been challenging, that’s an understatement! I’ve noticed that I don’t want to stop doing this, I won’t quit, there’s something about expressing myself, creating and sharing what I really love!
I try to imagine who YOU are as I write…are you drinking your morning coffee? Is the dog sitting at your feet, is there a baby napping in the next room? I want you to enjoy the few minutes it takes to read along, to feel like you’ve been invited into my home, to share a cup of coffee with me each morning.
I will be sharing hospitality ideas, tablescape photos and tips on styling, easy recipes that I love ( I’m not a chef, I’m a home cook, kind of farmhouse style ), and DIY skills that I’ve learned over the years. I always share my faith, that’s just who I am.
My goal, this year, is to reach out to partner with companies that I use for my DIY home projects. I tend to use, and reuse, companies that are fairly priced for high quality products, that I’m always pleased with. I’m giving myself a deadline to approach them, hopefully all will go well, and we can shop together this Fall, for our Christmas!
I’ve been a home fixer upper, and home flipper for years, I think I was the original Joanna Gaines! My last project, which we’re still working on, is a little lake cottage. Built in 1950, it was absolutely awful when we first saw it. But the water was clear, with a firm, sand bottom, with enough shallow beach area for swimmers and sun bathers.
Last year, I showed, on the blog, the restoration of the cottage. This year, we need to restain the deck and rescreen the porch. I would also like to paint the porch cement floor, with a stencil look….unless I decide it’s too busy-looking. We’ll see.
Summer is for swimming, gardening, traveling, and all things fun…in my opinion! We can enjoy it together!
I hope you stick around, check in often, follow and visit with us, while we carry on, updating our home, and enjoying the cottage this year!
Come help me finish up our current home, which needs updated, and enjoy the cottage with us, which is our favorite place to be!
And it’s even better, shared with a friend!
Hugs, Beth
