The Class of 2024 parties NOW…
There is always time to Party, as in this weekend and all the weekends until school or the workforce starts up again, next Fall.
How many High School graduates do you know and is that the same number of parties you’ll be attending this month?!! It is for us, and we are attending each and every one.
Attending, this year.
Hosting, a few years back. Literally hosting 1/2 of the graduating class, at least that’s what it looked and felt like!
So fun! So, tiring! So many names and happy faces, all so long ago, it seems.
Relatives drove in from all directions, a good half-day trip for most of them, and this year we’re back to being one of the “Relatives” driving in.
Don’t kid yourselves, I”M there to spend time with my grandson, the graduate…oh, AND my granddaughter, the graduate. After years of living all over the country and in Europe, they landed in the same school, same grade, same ceremony, and I watched it all through tears rolling down my cheeks.
So love being with family!
Doesn’t have to be a party, a gathering of any sort will do; a medical crisis, a joyous occasion or mending broken hearts…. I”M just here for all of it, for as long as they’ll let me stay:)
It seems like yesterday that Jon and I were hosting Lauren’s graduation party.
Joanna Gaines Chocolate Chip cookies were requested by our new “grad”. Since the cookies were ONE of the desserts, I wrapped them in pairs, as a grab and go treat, since everyone was outside. The tiny bows were her school’s colors, a tribute to the new grad. Displayed in a large bowl, they were pretty and a huge hit, after all, everyone loves chocolate chip cookies.
Lauren’s party was here at the house. She asked if she could invite about 40 people, “of course…whatever you like”, which turned into a good 100 or so! That’s alright, it’s her party, her way, her list of guests, as it should be.
The food, the majority of it, was catered in, the menu quite casual with a large tent in the backyard with 8 long tables underneath with chairs for seating. A drink table, a Photo Booth and a Bouncy house for all the littles, AND the neighbors’ littles. We also had an ice cream cart with frozen Root Beer floats to stay cool on a summers’ afternoon.
Inside, balloons were everywhere, and it was the first time I attempted to make a balloon arch as decor. Turned out well, except for occasional loud “popping” as the room grew warmer! Talk about fun, you’d jump out of your skin just walking by it, people had no idea what to do!
This year, again, all things Graduation are defining our month of June, four parties for four outstanding family members, so proud of each and every one.
I’ll help where needed, I’ll travel to where I need to be, but this year I am NOT hosting 100 people….
and I’m NOT “crying” about it!!
Have the best day friend!
xx,
