“There is nothing like staying home for real comfort.” –Jane Austen
Home is our refuge, our sanctuary, this is where we live, love, laugh, and grow.
All of life happens between these four walls, the place we call home, where could a better place be found?
There is none.
The photo above is from Sheila @lakehavencottage.com, her home is lovely, and she is a must-follow for sure!
There are so many ways to add “comfort” to a room…what’s one of your favorite ways to layer in the ” cozy”?
Remember the Three P’s….
pillows
patterns
plants
These always work.
This little transferware serving dish adds patterns, and plants at the same time. Multi-functional.
Not on my list, but a must, includes the use of candles.
I love to add candles, between their scents as you walk into a room, and the tiny flicker of the wick, they’re a warming “welcome” to any space.
This brings us to the matter of pillows, decorative, seasonal, throw pillows, bed pillows, bolster pillows…. etc. etc….. this is a sore topic in my home!!
Have you experienced that yet?
True story, just today, as we finalize storing Christmas away until next year, my husband declared, while looking right at me, “These pillows! You need a room just for your pillows!”
Giddy, I squealed, “YES! That would be awesome!!!”
He did not think I was funny.
Suffice it to say, I believe that changing out a few pillows on a sofa, chair or bed, gives the entire room a “new” look, which is more cost-saving than buying new furniture.
I think I’m “frugal”, and creative.
Are you with me?!
Anyway, just a few thoughts on a late-night write.
Hope you had a wonderful weekend, and I’d love to hear your thoughts on the “pillow” debate…. how many are too many?
If there is such a thing….
Hugs to you, my friend!
