Hello June, you caught me by surprise!
So…tell me friends, what is your favorite month of the year?
Your birthday month, Christmas, a wedding anniversary or special day? How did you choose?
June, by the way, is my birthday month, and the beginning of summer, which is more important to me. I love all things summer, don’t you?
The past few days have been so hot, I’ve set my spray-tanning-lotion aside for a direct hit from the sun, and it just feels so good. Like a vacation at the beach, just cheaper!
Are you planning vacations or day trips away? How will you spend this month without school for your children?
I still have a few “projects” to complete, both at home and the cottage, before the 4th of July, and because of the heavy lake-guest-traffic on that holiday, the lake comes first.
Garden-time is another summer love of mine. Just this morning I watered 5 starts of a perennial/lavender that I had divided from a larger plant, all 5 look desperately ill, faded and pale, drooping in the hot sun. If they don’t snap out of it, I’ll pull them out, and plant new, just to have a little bit of “pretty” showing from the curb. My current “curb appeal” wouldn’t appeal to anyone. Gardening can be vicious…
This month, every weekend is filled with graduations, graduation parties, and weddings.
And I haven’t even mentioned Father’s Day yet, only two weeks away…are you ready?
How do you celebrate Father’s Day?
We used to always barbeque, grill, or serve large slabs of various meats, Dad loved this.
More than the meat, he had a sweet tooth as well. I would make his favorite cake, or so I was told, a German Chocolate 3-layer cake with the coconut frosting. To die for, so good!
My father is no longer with us, passing away two years ago, so this year I’ll make my husband a Raspberry Rhubarb pie, his new favorite!
