Can you guess? I’m the one on the Right!!!
Date night in Savannah, Georgia, is as sweet as their peaches!
I miss you, I hope you missed me!
Sweet friend, please let me start right off with an apology, I have been MIA (or missing without much action)!
Summer has my heart, and with all the rain we’ve had, you too, I suppose, every warm day, I’ve been outside. Outside, gardening, pruning shrubs and trees, planting, potting, repotting, rearranging, and buying more plants to pot….and on and on…
Have you ever seen a hamster on an exercise wheel? I seem to be SO busy but also tend to run in circles.
Can you relate?
I’m so excited on a warm day, with sun on my shoulders, sunglasses on my head, sometimes a cold drink of sweet tea in my hand, as. I. sit. I love to just “sit” on the deck, watching golfers in our backyard (we’re on a golf course), watching birds, bunnies, squirrels and literally watching my plants grow! Everything carefully planted a couple or three weeks ago, has doubled in size and in blooms. It’s glorious!
What are your plans for this month, this gone-to-soon Summer’s month?

If you’ve been following along, A. Thank you so much, and B. you probably know that we Sold our little lake cottage. Last Fall. This is the first Summer in 10 years that we’ve been home, our real home, on the weekends during May through October, or even November. As sad as it was to sell the cottage, we planned to buy another, perhaps bigger to accommodate our growing family. I’m not saying we’ve changed our mind, we’ve looked at several properties, though the locations, or structures were not “right” for us.
Time will tell …
In the meantime, we’re doing a little “refreshing” on our home, and we’re also considering “downsizing”!!! If we find something fabulous, we will sell this home for the next. Ouch! Of ALL things…I thought downsizing was a parent thing, never dreamed I’d be here!
” I don’t think I am,” said the hamster:)
So, that’s why I apologized…my mind is everywhere, and when I’m working on something, or running to a plant nursery, hardware store, shopping, planting, painting or house-hunting, I do NOT even think of documenting every moment of my life, in photos, for social media.
But that’s my “job”, here, on social media.
When all is said and done, when I’m here, then I’m missing for a while, I want you to know that it’s a busy season of life for me, a new experience for us as a couple, a family, and summer is not helping me one bit.
Oh dear, sounds like a lame excuse. I intend to snap out of this funk, decide to “stay or go”, renovate and refresh this home for ourselves to enjoy, or be ready and happy to sell this home should we find the “perfect” little villa for us.
Just us.
The Summer baby and her Georgia peach!

Let’s enjoy this summer together, read and write, play and do, as we can and are able,
happy summer, friend!
xx,
